台灣同學留學美國的總人數是世界第七多，其中以申請研究所的人數占最大宗。我們特別與德州知名的Rice University合作，邀請三位來自台灣的博士研究生來分享他們申請及就讀研究所的經驗，其中有兩名同學還是教育部公費留學獎學金的得主。此外Rice University的院長及代表也會講解申請研究所的注意事項。歡迎有興趣的同學馬上報名吧！以下是三位台灣同學的簡介:
Chun-Ying Chao (趙俊穎)
I am a third-year Ph.D. student in the department of environmental engineering at Rice University. I received my bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from National Cheng Kung University in 2015.
Chia Hsieh (謝嘉)
A fourth-year PhD student in the Program of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the Department of BioSciences, Rice University. Arising in the field of geography with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree at National Taiwan University and thriving in the field of ecology as a research assistant at Biodiversity Research Center, Academia Sinica lead to my graduate research at Rice. My graduate research focuses on unraveling processes shaping worldwide biodiversity distribution by integrating various data analysis approaches.
Yan-Yu Chiou (邱晏瑜)
I am a 4th year Ph.D student at the department of Economics. My research interest is Econometrics theory, especially on nonparametric and semiparametric regression, unsupervised learning and microeconometrics. I received a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Providence University, Taiwan and M.B.A. in Finance from National Chung-Hsing University, Taiwan. I also won the Government Fellowship for Studying Abroad in Taiwan, 2018.
